Umano Masaki (馬野正基)

Masaki UMANO (June 24, 1965 -) is a nohgakushi (noh actor) of the Kanze school.

He is the first son of Yoshio UMANO, who is Kanze-ryu noh shite-kata (a person who plays the main role in Kanze school noh plays) (second child of four siblings and his sister (third child) is the photographer Noriko UMANO).

He lived in Uji City when he was a junior and senior high school student.

He graduated from the Department of Traditional Japanese Music of the Faculty of Music, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, majoring in noh plays. He currently lives in Tokyo.

Career
On June 24, 1965, he was born in Yamashina, Kyoto City.

In 1989, he joined Tessenkai. He studied under his father, Takashi KAWAMURA, Tetsunojo KANZE (the eighth), and Tetsunojo KANZE (the ninth). He performed on stage for the first time in the play called "Oimatsu kiri" (Cutting of a big old pine tree) when he was three. After he played the main role in "Shojono" when he was seven, he performed in "Shoran" in 1995 and "Shakkyo" (Stone Bridge, noh play) in 1996. He performed in "Dojo-ji Temple (noh)" in 2002. He performed in "Kiyotsune Koi no Netori " for the first time in 2005. In 2007, he formed 'Sansei-kai Party' together with Yasutaro and Noritaka YAMAMOTO, who are Kyogen Okura-ryu kyogenkata (comic actors of the Okura school), and Manabu TAKEICHI, who is Fujita-ryu Fuekata (a person who plays the flute learned in the Fujita school), and played "Mochizuki" for the first time. He has been participating in a large number of new noh dramas, repeated noh dramas, movies, and overseas stage plays. He is a host of Kafu-kai.
